I am very famous not only for my control of the moon, but also for being connected to other famous things. I am of course linked to the 15 day of the 8 lunar month, or the Mid-Autumn Festival. This holiday is strictly dedicated to me. Also, my face appears on thousands of kites during the international kite festival in Weifang, Shandong, China. Lastly, if having my own festival and being featured on a kite isn't enough, the famous Zhou Wenju painted this elegant picture of me on a fan.
Your story about the Elixir sounds like the story that we read in the Myth and Meaning book about the immortality pill and the archer's wife, who went to live on the moon.
ReplyDeleteIt is. My story has many variations, and the one in Myth and Meaning is one of those variations. It might have been harder to tell, also, because they used a different dialect for my name.
DeleteSo is your husband Yi or Shen I, or are they both variations of each other? Do they have similar attributes at all, or are they completely different people?
