Attributes Part 1

Hello! I am the beautiful and powerful goddess of the moon, Chang'e. Some of you may also know me as Chang-e, Heng-O, Chang-O, Chang-er, or 嫦娥. I have dark hair and dark eyes. And yes, I may have been a little on the overweight side, but after drinking the Elixir of immortality, I am weightless. My husband, Yi, may not have been to happy about this, because he told me to stay away from it. I adore couples and their love, especially when they are under my moon. This is mainly because I miss Yi. I get lonely up here, with only the Jade Rabbit to comfort me. I bring good fortune and beautiful moonlight to those who remember me and honor me, especially during my Moon Festival. My main talent, though, is my magnificent moon dance. The only weakness I have isn't really a weakness at all. It's a mistake: drinking the Elixir. I am trying to find a way to get back to earth to be reunited with Yi; I can't find a way to without upsetting the Jade Rabbit, though. So I guess I'll just have to keep controlling the moon in solitary...

Attributes Part 2

I am responsible for the moon, and when the moon is mentioned, my name is what pops into many people's minds. I am associated with the moon, obviously, the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is also the Moon Festival, and moon cakes. I was once in Heaven with the Jade Emperor, until Yi got in trouble for shooting 9 of the 10 suns to save Earth, and he and I were forced back to Earth and lost our immortality. My actions are never harmful to people. I bring them good fortune and luck, especially when they offer prayers up to me and remember me fondly. Once again, my flaw that changed my life forever was drinking all of the elixir. I brought my loneliness upon myself, I guess; I fail to acknowledge this, though. Yutu, the Jade Rabbit, keeps me company and acts as my friend. Although I don't have a definite symbol, I am always pictured with Yutu and my beloved moon.

  1. Very interesting. Does everyone have immortality elixir? I know seven of my friends who also have stumbled upon this stuff. Seems pretty easy to get now that I think of it. I literally just blew myself up to find it.

    1. Not everyone has it. You have to have a cause, like my husband. Or just know how to make it, Like Xi Wangmu.

  3. Well the mistake was that you drank too much elixir. I warned Yi that if he drank half the elixir that he would live forever and tested him by saying if someone drank all of the elixir they would be able to go back to heaven.

  4. Heaven is supposed to be happy, but I am not happy on this moon with only the annoying Jade Rabbit and not my husband whom I am forbidden to see.

  5. Wow that seems like a lonely way to live your life. Your story of drinking the elixir seems like the story of Prometheus, and Pandora's Jar, from Greek Mythology. Is Yi trying to find you a way back from the moon? Is you husband angry at you for disobeying his and drinking the elixir?
